Gloria's Clam Topper
|Onion||1 Medium, chopped|
|Green pepper||1⁄2 Medium, chopped|
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm), minced|
|Dried oregano leaves||1 Teaspoon|
|Dried parsley flakes||1 Teaspoon|
|Dried crushed red pepper||1⁄4 Teaspoon|
|Minced clams||13 Ounce, drained (Two 6 1/2 Ounce Each Cans, Reserve 3 To 6 Tablespoons Liquid)|
|Lemon juice||1 Tablespoon|
|Seasoned dry bread crumbs||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Romano cheese||3 Ounce, grated|
In 9-inch pie plate, combine butter, onion, green pepper, garlic, oregano, parsley and red pepper.
Microwave at High for 4 to 6 minutes, or until onion and green pepper are tender, stirring once.
Stir in clams, 3 tablespoons reserved liquid and lemon juice.
Stir in bread crumbs.
Add additional reserved liquid, 1 tablespoon at a time, until desired consistency.
Sprinkle with grated cheese.
Reduce power to 70% (Medium High).
Microwave for 3 to 4 minutes, or until hot and cheese melts, rotating plate once or twice.
