Citrus Spiced Pears
|Cinnamon||6 Inch (2 3" sticks)|
|Canned pear halves||29 Ounce|
Place cinnamon and cloves on a cheesecloth square.
Bring edges of cheesecloth together at top, and tie securely.
Combine spice bog, pears, 1 orange, and 1 lemon in a medium-size non- aluminum saucepan; bring to a boil.
Cover; reduce heat, and simmer 15 minutes.
Remove from heat, and cool.
Transfer to a serving dish; cover and chill 8 hours or overnight.
Discard spice bag, orange, and lemon.
Serve chilled on a bed of orange or lemon slices, if desired.
To garnish, tie strips of lemon or orange rind into knots, and arrange on pears, if desired.
