Sweetened Citrus Peel
|Water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Granulated sugar repalcement||1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)|
|Thin peel of any citrus fruit||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs), cut in matchstick-sized strips|
Combine water and granulated sugar replacement in a saucepan.
Stir to dissolve powder.
Cook over medium heat until just boiling.
Reduce heat, add citrus peel, and simmer for 15 minutes.
Let cool to room temperature.
Cover and refrigerate at least 6 to 8 hours or overnight.
Drain peel thoroughly and mince.
Use as garnish on desserts.
