Ingredients
  Shortening 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Part Butter Or Margarine)
  Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Egg 1
  Buttermilk 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Vanilla 1 Teaspoon
  Gold medal flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Cinnamon 1 Teaspoon
Directions

Mix shortening, 1 cup sugar, and egg thoroughly.
Stir in buttermilk and vanilla.
Measure flour by dipping method or by sifting.
Blend together flour, soda and salt; stir in.
Chill dough.
Heat oven to 400°
Drop rounded tea-spoonfuls of dough about 2" apar
