Tomato Chutney

Tomato chutney, tangy sweet or spicy condiment from the Indian cuisine is made with sliced red or green tomatoes or tomato pulp. A number of interesting preservable and fresh variations of the chutney are made throughout the country as an accompaniment to rice or snacks. A basic tomato chutney recipe would consist of sauteeing ripe tomatoes with seasoning consisting of mustard seeds, cumin seeds, red chillies, lentils and tamarind pulp, and making a paste of the fired mixture in a food processor. Tomato chutney is widely eaten with a lot of Indian bread recipes.
