A yummy Chettinadu Style Tomato dip
Ingredients
  Tomatoes 500 Gram, quartered
  Onion 150 Gram, diced
  Groundnut oil 30 Milliliter
  Red chillies 25 Gram
  Channa dal 15 Gram
  Salt 15 Gram
  Ginger 10 Gram, crushed
  Garlic 10 Gram, crushed
  Jaggery 5 Gram
Directions

HEAT OIL IN A KADAI ADD RED CHILLIES GINER & GARLIC CURRY LEAVES AND CHANNA
WHEN DAL IS COLOURED ADD DICED ONION AND SAUTE
COOK ONION WITHOUT COLOURING, ADD THE QUATERED TOMATOES AND COOK UNTIL THE VEGETABLES ARE LIMP AND THE GRATED JAGGERY LET IT COOK N MIX WELL
COOL THE MIXTURE AND BLEND UNTIL FINE
HEAT OIL IN A KADAI ADD THE BLENDED CHUTNEY AND REDUCE UNTIL THE CHUTNEY IS REDUCED TO A THICK CONSISTENCY
MAY BE SERVED HOT OR COLD WITH IDLY OR DOSA OR WITH HOT RICE.

Tomato Chutney is a tasty one. If you can, do include the recipes of tamarind churney, raw mango chutney and doskai chutney as well... Great Work .. Keep it up !!!

i am surprised that somebody posting a receipe does not check the directions. i would like to know where have the ingredients ginger, gaarlic, salt, curry leaves and jaggery listed gone. the chef seems to have forgotten to add them, it is a very poor presentation

add the ginger, garlic, curry leaf to the oil when tempering . add jaggery at the last ... i hope that solved the puzzle :-)
