Okra Chowder

This okra chowder recipe is a heavy and filling recipe. Made with vegtables, the okra chowder is quite thick and spiced with paprika. With added bacon on top the okra chowder is best eaven with rice or orzo.
Ingredients
  Okra 2 Pint
  Bacon fat/Cooking fat 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Diced celery 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Green pepper 1 , seeded and diced
  Onion 1 Small, peeled, chopped
  Tomatoes 2 Large, peeled, seeded and chopped
  Brown sugar 1 Teaspoon
  Paprika 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Boiling water 4 Cup (64 tbs)
Directions

Cut stems from okra; slice.
Heat fat in kettle.
Add okra, celery, pepper, and onion; saute about 5 minutes.
Add tomatoes, sugar, paprika, and water; cover.
Simmer about 1 hour, until vegetables are tender.
Add seasoning to taste.
A little diced crisply-cooked bacon sprinkled on top is a pleasant addition.
