American Fish Chowder

Ingredients
  Flaked cooked cod/Fresh cod 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Potatoes 6 , cut into cubes
  Boiling water 1 Pint
  Sliced onion 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Salt 1 Tablespoon (For Coating)
  Pepper 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Milk 1 Quart
Directions

Try out the fat, add a sliced onion and cook to a light brown.
Strain the fat into a saucepan; add the potatoes and boiling water, and cook for 10 minutes.
Add the fish and simmer for 20 minutes.
Add the milk and seasonings.
Heat to the boiling point and serve.
Any white fish, oysters, or clams may be used in place of the codfish
