Corn Chowder

NOTE : Chowder is a thick soup usually milk based containing bacon & potatoes. Chowders are popular in the US.A. It is yet another filling soup & should be followed by something light. Fish can be added instead of sweetcorn. e.g. prawns. This type of soup originated in the U.S.A.
  Green pepper To Taste
  Bacon/50 gram butter 100 Gram
  Chopped onion 100 Gram
  Celery stalk 1
  Potatoes 150 Gram
  Bay leaf 1
  Grated nutmeg 1 Teaspoon
  Water 3 Cup (48 tbs)
  Milk 3 Cup (48 tbs)
  Sweet corn 300 Gram
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste

Chop green pepper & cook in boiling salted water for 3 minutes.
Drain and set aside.
Fry bacon until brown - add the onions, celery & continue frying until brown.
Add pepper, potato, Lejpatta, water, nutmeg, salt, bacon and pepper to the vegetables.
Bring to a boil Simmer till the potatoes are soft.
Blend 1 des.
spoon flour with a little milk to make a smooth liquid.
Stir into the soup with the remaining milk & sweet corn.
Continue stirring until the soup comes to a boil.
Serve with chopped corriander.
