Prawn Chowder

Ingredients
  Streaky bacon 4 Ounce, derinded and chopped (125 Gram)
  Potatoes 4 , chopped
  Onion 1 Large, finely chopped
  Plain flour 1 Ounce (25 Gram)
  Curry powder 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Water 1 Pint (600 Milliliter)
  Peeled prawns 8 Ounce, drained (Fresh, Canned Or Frozen And Thawed, 250 Gram)
  Milk 1 Pint (600 Milliliter)
  Dry sherry 4 Tablespoon
  Chopped parsley 2 Tablespoon (For Garnish)
  Salt To Taste
  Pepper To Taste
Directions

Place the bacon in a large pan and heat gently until the fat runs.
Increase the heat and when the bacon begins to brown, add the potatoes and onion.
Fry for 5 minutes, then stir in the flour and curry powder.
Gradually add the water, stirring constantly.
Season with salt and pepper to taste and bring to the boil, stirring.
Add the prawns and simmer for 30 minutes, until the potato is tender.
Pour in the milk and sherry, if using, and heat through gently.
Check the seasoning and sprinkle with chopped parsley just before serving.
