New York Clam Chowder

Ingredients
  Butter/Regular margarine 2 Tablespoon
  Chopped onion 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Chopped celery 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Chopped pared carrots 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Potato 1 Medium, pared and finely diced
  Canned tomatoes 16 Ounce, cut up (1 Can)
  Water 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Dried thyme leaves 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Canned minced clams 6 1⁄2 Ounce (1 Can)
Directions

Place butter, onion, celery, carrots and potato in 2-qt. glass casserole.
Cover and microwave at high setting 7 minutes, or until tender, stirring after 4 minutes.
Add tomatoes, water, salt, pepper and thyme.
Cover and microwave at high setting 12 minutes, stirring after 6 minutes.
Add undrained clams.
Cover and microwave at high setting 1 minute more, or until hot.
