Chocolate Pecan Toffee
|Pecans||1 Cup (16 tbs), chopped|
|Brown sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Butter||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Semi sweet chocolate chips||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Butter a 9" x 9" x 2" (23 x 23 x 5 cm) baking pan.
Spread the chopped pecans in the bottom of the pan.
Heat the sugar and butter to boiling in a small saucepan, stirring, constantly. (Boil about 7 minutes.)
Pour over the pecans in the pan.
Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the hot mixture, cover the pan with a baking sheet so the contained heat will melt the chocolate.
Spread the melted chips over the candy.
While warm cut into 1 1/2" (3-4 cm) squares.
Chill until firm.
