Marble Squares A La Mode
|Sugar||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Butter/Margarine||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Vanilla||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Sifted all purpose flour||2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Unsweetened chocolate square||1 Ounce, melted (1 Square)|
|Vanilla ice cream||1 Pint|
|Fudge sauce||1 Tablespoon|
Cream sugar and butter thoroughly; stir in vanilla.
Add eggs, beating just till blended.
Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Stir into creamed mixture.
Spoon half the mixture into another bowl; stir melted chocolate into remaining batter.
Drop chocolate mixture checkerboard fashion from tablespoon in greased 8x8x2-inch baking pan.
Fill in spaces with light batter.
Zigzag with spatula to marble.
Do not over-mix.
Bake at 350° 25 to 30 minutes or till done; cool.
Cut in squares.
Top each square with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Serve with Fudge Sauce.
