Chocolate Almond Decadence
|Flour||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Baking powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Butter||6 Ounce (1 1/2 Sticks)|
|Unsweetened cocoa powder||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Sugar||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Almond extract||1 Teaspoon|
|Vanilla extract||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Almond paste||7 Ounce|
1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease an 8-inch square baking pan. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
2. Melt butter over low heat or in a microwave. In a medium bowl, combine melted butter and cocoa powder; stir until well blended. Mix in sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in almond extract and vanilla. Stir in flour mixture until blended. Spread half of batter into bottom of prepared pan.
3. Roll almond paste into an 8-inch square. Place onto pofbatterin pan. Top with remaining batter. Bake 25 to 30 minutes, until edges begin to pull away from sides of pan. Remove pan to a rack. Let cool completely in pan before cutting into 16 squares.
