Beat eggs and sugar until light.
Stir in spices, chocolate, and lemon rind.
Sift flour and baking powder over almonds and candied peel and coat fruit thoroughly.
Stir into egg mixture.
If dough is too soft to roll out, add a little more flour, 1 tablespoon at a time.
Roll out dough on lightly floured board to 1/4 inch thickness.
Cut into sticks 1x3 inches.
Bake on greased cookie sheet in preheated moderate oven (350°F.) for 10 to 12 minutes.
