Chocolate Chip Banana Nut Bread

Erica.Bargmann's picture
This is a classic banana bread – moist and full of chocolate chips! This recipe is one of my family's favorites that I make on a sometimes weekly basis. A great way to use your overripe bananas, this loaf makes a great hostess gift plus it freezes well tightly wrapped in foil the freezer for up to 3 months.
Ingredients
  Sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Egg 1
  Butter 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Mashed ripe bananas 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Milk 3 Tablespoon
Sifted flour 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Baking powder 1 Teaspoon
  Baking soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Semi-sweet chocolate morsels 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Chopped black walnuts 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
Directions

Preheat oven to 350 F. Cream sugar and butter until fluffy. Add egg and beat again. Set aside. Combine bananas and milk in small bowl. Stir by hand into creamed mixture alternately with the banana mixture until flour is just moistened. Stir in chocolate morsels and black walnuts. Butter a 9x5x3 inch bread pan. Turn batter into pan. Bake at 350 for 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool in pan 10 minutes. Remove from pan and cool on rack.
