Great Date Chocolate Dessert
|Crème filled chocolate cookies||15 Ounce, crushed to make 3 1/4 cups (Package)|
|Margarine/Butter||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), softened|
|Chopped dates||16 Ounce (Two 8 Ounce Package)|
|Water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Miniature marshmallows||10 1⁄2 Ounce (Package)|
|Whipping cream||1 Pint, chilled (2 Cups)|
|Powdered sugar||3 Tablespoon|
|Miniature semi sweet chocolate chips||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
Lightly butter 13x9-inch pan.
In medium bowl, combine cookie crumbs (reserve 1/4 cup for topping) and margarine.
Press in bottom of prepared pan; chill 15 minutes.
In large saucepan, over medium heat, combine dates and water.
Cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.
Add marshmallows; continue cooking until marshmallows are melted and mixture is well blended.
Remove from heat; cool slighdy.
Carefully pour mixture over prepared base.
Chill 1 hour.
In medium bowl, whip cream until stiff peaks form; fold in powdered sugar, chips and nuts.
Spread over chilled date layer.
Sprinkle with reserved cookie crumbs.
Chill several hours until firm; cut into squares.
