Chocolate Nut Triangles

  Shortening 2⁄3 Cup (10.67 tbs)
  Firmly packed brown sugar 2 1⁄4 Cup (36 tbs)
  Eggs 3
  All purpose flour 2 2⁄3 Cup (42.67 tbs)
  Baking powder 2 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Chopped nuts 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Semisweet chocolate pieces 6 Ounce (1 Package / 1 Cup)
  Maple frosting 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Adjust Quantity As Needed)
  Chocolate frosting 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (Adjust Quantity As Needed)
  Candied cherries 2 Tablespoon
  Nuts 2 Tablespoon

Preheat oven to 350°.
Line 15 1/2 X 10 1/2 X 1-inch jelly roll pan with foil.
Melt shortening in large saucepan.
Stir in brown sugar; mix well.
Remove from heat; cool 10 minutes.
Beat in eggs, one at a time.
Sift flour, baking powder and salt together; stir into sugar mixture.
Stir in nuts and chocolate pieces.
Spread in prepared pan.
Bake 25-30 minutes.
Cool 10 minutes in pan; invert on board.
Cool thoroughly.
Frost half with Maple Frosting and half with Chocolate Frosting.
With electric knife, trim edges and cut into 2-inch squares.
Cut each square diagonally to form triangles.
Decorate with nuts and candied cherries.
