Steaming Hot Chocolate

Ingredients
  Unsweetened chocolate square 2 Ounce
  Boiling water 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Sugar 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Salt 1 Pinch
  Scalded milk 1 Quart
  Evaporated milk 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Vanilla 1⁄2 Teaspoon
Directions

Melt chocolate over hot water; slowly add 1 1/2 cups boiling water, stirring continuously to obtain a smooth paste.
Add sugar and salt to hot milk; then combine with the chocolate syrup, stir thoroughly and continue cooking 5 minutes over boiling water.
Add vanilla, whip for a minute with rotary beater, and serve steaming hot.
Addition of marshmallows or whipped cream makes a richer drink.
