Coffee Chocolate Chip Bars

Ingredients
  Packed brown sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Butter 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Egg 1
  Instant coffee 1 Tablespoon (crystals)
  Vanilla 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  All purpose flour 1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)
  Baking soda 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Walnuts 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs), chopped
Directions

In mixer bowl beat together brown sugar and butter; beat in egg, coffee crystals, and vanilla.
Stir together flour, soda, and salt; stir into butter mixture.
Stir in chocolate pieces and nuts.
Spread in greased 9x9x2-inch pan.
Bake in 375° oven about 20 minutes.
Cool; sprinkle with powdered sugar, if desired.
Cut into squares.
