Chocolate Coated Almonds
|Whole blanched almonds||2 Ounce (60 Gram)|
|Almond paste||200 Gram (1 Packet, Marzipan)|
|Dark cooking chocolate||4 Ounce (125 Gram)|
Spread almonds in single layer on an oven tray.
Bake in moderate oven 5 to 10 minutes, or until light golden brown.
Mould small pieces of marzipan around each almond (each almond will require about one level teaspoon marzipan).
Place coated almonds on wire rack until they feel firm and dry to the touch.
Time will depend on room temperature and dampness of atmosphere; it may take several hours or even overnight.
Melt chocolate over simmering water, dip each almond into chocolate, place on aluminium foil.
Allow to set at room temperature, or refrigerate until set.
