Chocolate Chip Whole Wheat Cookies
|Shortening||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Packed light brown sugar||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Water||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Whole wheat flour||1 Cup (16 tbs), unsifted|
|Baking soda||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Quick cooking oats||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Chopped dried apricots/Chopped dried raisins||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Semi-sweet chocolate||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Cream shortening and brown sugar in large mixer bowl until light and fluffy.
Add egg, water and vanilla; beat well.
Combine whole wheat flour, baking soda and salt; stir into creamed mixture.
Stir in oats, dried apricots and MINI CHIPS Chocolate.
Drop by teaspoonfuls onto lightly greased cookie sheet; flatten slightly.
Bake at 350° for 10 to 12 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from cookie sheet; cool completely on wire rack.
