Classic Chocolate Sauce

  Unsweetened chocolate 1 Ounce (1 square)
  Butter/Margarine 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Sugar 1 1⁄4 Cup (20 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Evaporated milk 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Vanilla extract 1⁄2 Teaspoon

Place chocolate and butter in top of a double boiler; bring water to a boil.
Reduce heat to low; cook until chocolate melts.
Stir in sugar, salt, and milk.
Cook over medium heat, stirring until sugar dissolves and sauce is smooth.
Stir in vanilla.
