Nutty Chip Chews

Ingredients
  Packed brown sugar 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Butter 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), softened
  Egg 1
  Vanilla 1 Teaspoon
  Flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Baking powder 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Nuts 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), chopped
Directions

With electric mixer, cream sugar and butter; add egg and vanilla.
Stir in flour and baking powder until well blended; add nuts and 1/2 cup chocolate pieces.
Spread batter in 8-inch square dish.
Top with remaining chocolate.
Cook at LOW 6 minutes and MEDIUM-HIGH 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 minutes, or until top springs back when lightly pressed.
To dry top, cover with wax paper last minute of cooking.
Let stand, uncovered, until cool.
Store, covered, until ready to serve.
