Chinese Chicken With Walnuts
|Dark soy sauce||2 Tablespoon (Chinese)|
|Superfine caster sugar||1 Teaspoon|
|Fresh lemon juice||2 Tablespoon|
|Five spice powder||1⁄3 Teaspoon|
|Cooked chicken||10 1⁄2 Ounce, cut into thin strips|
|White port||2 Tablespoon|
|Coarsely chopped walnuts||8|
|Chopped chives||1 Tablespoon|
Heat a browning dish in the oven for 6-8 minutes on HIGH, following the manufacturer's instructions.
Put the cornstarch (cornflour) in a dish and mix gradually with the soy sauce.
Add the sugar, lemon juice, five spice powder and pepper and mix well.
Add the chicken strips to the sauce and mix until the chicken is well coated.
Pour the oil into the hot browning dish and add the contents of the bowl carefully to avoid spattering the inside of the oven.
Stir with a wooden fork until the mixture stops sizzling.
Cover and microwave on HIGH for 2 minutes.
Divide the contents of the browning dish between two dinner plates.
Pour the port into the browning dish and mix well with a spatula.
Pour over the chicken.
Sprinkle with chopped walnuts and chopped chives
