Spicy Chop Suey
|Cubed pork||1⁄2 Pound|
|Cubed beef/Veal||1⁄2 Pound|
|Garlic||2 Clove (10 gm), sliced|
|Diced onion||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Diced celery||3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)|
|Soy sauce||4 Tablespoon|
|Canned bean sprouts||1 Pound (Fancy Ones, 1 Can)|
|Canned mushrooms||4 Ounce (1 Can)|
|Canned water chestnuts||4 Ounce (1 Can)|
Brown meat; simmer in enough water to cover for 15 minutes.
Add next 5 ingredients; simmer until tender, about 45 minutes, adding water to cover.
During last 15 minutes of cooking add bean sprouts, mushrooms, water chestnuts and additional soy sauce.
Thicken with cornstarch like gravy just before serving.
