Chinese Chews

Chinese chews are date and nut snacks that can also be served as desserts after a meal. Made with a prepared batter of flour with sugar, eggs, walnuts and dates, the chinese chews are slow baked and can be rolled in fruit sugar.
Ingredients
  Flour 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Salt 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Baking powder 1 Teaspoon
  White sugar 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Chopped dates 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Chopped walnuts 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Eggs 3 , well beaten
Directions

Sift dry ingredients together.
Stir in remaining ingredients.
Pour into greased 10x14 inch pan.
Bake in slow oven at 300°F for 30 minutes.
Cut into bars and roll in fruit sugar or icing sugar.
