Chinese Pepper Steak
|Sirloin steak||1 1⁄2 Pound (1 Inch Thick)|
|Vegetable oil||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Garlic||1 Clove (5 gm), crushed|
|Green peppers||3 Large, sliced|
|Onions||2 Large, thinly sliced|
|Soy sauce||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Beef bouillon||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Water chestnuts||1 Cup (16 tbs), sliced thin|
|Cold water||14 Cup (224 tbs)|
|Green onions||4 , cut in 1 in. pieces|
Cut meat into 1/8-inch thick slices.
Heat oil in skillet; add garlic, salt, ginger and pepper.
Saute until garlic is golden.
Add steak; brown and remove.
Add green peppers and onions; cook 3 minutes.
Return beef to pan; add soy sauce, sugar, bouillon, water chestnuts, cornstarch dissolved in cold water and green onions.
Simmer about 3 minutes or until sauce thickens.
Serve over hot rice.
