Chow Mein Casserole

Ingredients
  Ground beef 1 Pound
  Chopped celery 3⁄4 Cup (12 tbs)
  Instant minced onion 3 Tablespoon
  Converted rice 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs), uncooked
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Condensed chicken with rice soup 10 1⁄2 Ounce
  Canned mushroom stems and pieces 4 Ounce, drained
  Soy sauce 2 Tablespoon
  Brown sugar 1 Tablespoon
  Butter/Margarine 1 Teaspoon
Directions

Cook and stir meat, celery and onion until meat is brown.
(To serve immediately, see be low.) Spoon off fat.
Stir in remaining ingredients.
Pour into greased 2-quart casserole.
Cover and refrigerate.
1 1/2 hours before serving, stir 1 1/4 cups boiling water into casserole.
Cover tightly; bake in 350° oven 30 minutes.
Stir casserole; bake uncovered 50 minutes.
To Serve Immediately: While browning meat, pour 1 1/4 cups boiling water on rice and salt in greased 2 quart casserole and cover.
Stir meat mixture into rice; bake covered in 350° oven 30 minutes.
Stir casserole; bake uncovered 30 minutes.
