Chinese Red-Stewed Beef

Ingredients
  Lean pot roast 3 Pound (Chuck, Round, Rump, Or Sirloin Tip)
  Soy sauce 1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)
  Sherry 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Ginger slice 4
  Scallions 3
  Garlic 1 Clove (5 gm)
  Brown sugar 2 Tablespoon
  Anise 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Water 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Directions

Place pot roast in slow cooker and add remaining ingredients.
Cover and cook on low about 10 hours.
Slice meat and cover with cooking sauce as it is served.
