Hunan Sweet And Sour Meat

Ingredients
  Lean meat 1⁄2 Kilogram, cut into 1 inch cubes
  Pineapple slices 2 , cut into 1 inch cubes
  Onion 1 , quartered
  Carrots 2 , quartered
  Capsicums 2 , deseeded and quartered
  Garlic 2 Clove (10 gm), crushed
  Egg 1 , beaten
  Bamboo shoot 2 Tablespoon, minced
  Cornflour 2 Tablespoon
  Flour 2 Tablespoon
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Ground black pepper 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Sweet and sour sauce 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Oil 2 Cup (32 tbs) (for deep frying)
Directions

Parboil meat cubes with little salt.
Drain well.
Place cooked meat in a bowl.
Sprinkle salt, pepper and mix.
Mix in a bowl, flour, cornflour, beaten egg and pour over the meat cubes and rub thoroughly, each piece should be coated well.
Fry meat pieces, few at a time in oil, until colour turns golden brown.
Remove, drain well and keep on a kitchen paper.
Discard excess oil.
Saute onion and crushed garlic for 2 minutes, and add bamboo shoots, vegetables and pineapple.
Saute for 5 minutes.
Add meat pieces.
Stir in sweet and sour sauce, mix well and simmer for 10 minutes.
Remove from fire.
Serve hot with rice or noodles.
VEGETARIAN VERSION:
Replace meat cubes by boiled, washed and dried soya nuggets or cubed vegetarian ham.
Add 1/2 cup quartered celery and follow the recipe as given above.
