Chinese Cabbage with Tomatoes

|Shredded chinese cabbage||5 Cup (80 tbs)|
|Boiling salted water||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Canned tomatoes||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
Parboil cabbage 5 minutes, and drain.
Combine tomatoes with onion, sugar and seasonings.
Pour over cabbage, and cook slowly, covered, until cabbage is tender, 15Ã¢â‚¬â€20 minutes.
Remove bay leaf before serving.
