Chinese Ground Beef
|Ground beef||1 1⁄2 Pound|
|Celery||3 Cup (48 tbs)|
|Water chestnuts||1 Can (10 oz)|
|Chop suey vegetables||1 Can (10 oz)|
|Mushrooms||1 Can (10 oz)|
|Bean sprouts||1 Can (10 oz)|
|Soy sauce||To Taste|
|Chow mein noodles||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Cooked rice||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
Brown beef with salt, pepper, onion and celery.
Cook, covered, for about 5 minutes.
Drain water chestnuts; cut into thin slices.
Add chop suey vegeta- bles, mushrooms, bean sprouts and water chestnuts; bring to a boil.
Mix molasses, cornstarch and 2 cups water; blend well.
Stir molasses mixture into beef mixture gradually; cook, stirring constantly, until thickened.
Add soy sauce; serve over noodles and rice.
