Homemade Pearl Balls
|Glutinous rice||2 Tablespoon|
|Minced pork||6 Ounce (180 Gram)|
|Sesame oil||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Water chestnuts||8 , chopped|
|Dried shrimps||2 Teaspoon, soaked and chopped|
|Ginger||1⁄2 Teaspoon, grated|
|Onion||1 Teaspoon, chopped|
|Carrot||1⁄2 , shredded|
Rinse the rice until the water is clear.
Cover with fresh cold water and soak for 1 hour; drain well.
Beat the pork vigorously with the sesame oil, salt and pepper for 5 minutes.
Add the water chestnuts, shrimps, ginger and cornflour to the pork and mix well.
Divide into twelve and form each portion into a firm ball.
Roll in the rice until well coated.
Place on a plate allowing 1 cm (1/2 in) between each ball, and steam for 30 minutes over a high heat.
Serve garnished with carrot and parsley.
