Chinese Style Hamburger Hash
|Ground beef||1 Pound|
|Salad oil/Shortening||2 Tablespoon|
|Onions||2 Medium, chopped|
|Sliced celery||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Canned mushroom soup||10 1⁄2 Ounce (1 Can)|
|Canned cream of chicken soup||10 1⁄2 Ounce (1 Can)|
|Warm water||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
|Uncooked rice||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Soy sauce||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Chow mein noodles||3 Ounce (Crisp Ones, 1 Can)|
Brown meat in oil until slightly crumbly.
Add onions, celery, mushroom and chicken soups, and warm water.
Stir in rice, soy sauce, and pepper.
Turn into a lightly greased casserole (about 2-quart size).
Cover and bake in a moderate oven (350°) for 30 minutes; remove cover and continue baking for 30 minutes longer.
Cover the mixture with the crisp chow mein noodles and continue baking for 15 minutes more.
Makes 8 servings.
