Orange Sauced Chicken
|Ready to cook broiler fryer chicken||3 Pound, cut up (1 Chicken, 2 1/2 To 3 Pound)|
|All purpose flour||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)|
|Grated orange peel||1 Teaspoon|
|Shortening||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Orange sauce||2 Tablespoon|
Coat chicken pieces with mixture of flour, orange peel, paprika, 1 teaspoon salt, and 1/8 teaspoon pepper; reserve remaining flour mixture.
In skillet, slowly brown chicken on both sides in hot shortening till lightly browned, 15 to 20 minutes.
Reduce heat; add 2 tablespoons water and cover.
Cook 30 to 40 minutes or till tender.
Uncover last 10 minutes of cooking.
Remove chicken to platter reserving pan drippings.
