Classic Fortune Cookies

Ingredients
  Flour 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Egg 1 , lightly beaten
  Sugar 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Vanilla extract 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Lukewarm water 1 Cup (16 tbs)
Directions

1. Combine all ingredients and let stand for 15 minutes.
2. Heat a Chinese or Scandinavian Krumkake iron over the range to medium-high. Pour 1 tablespoon (15 ml) of flour mixture in center of the iron. Cook 3-3 1/2 minutes on each side, or until mixture is golden brown.
3. Immediately remove flattened cookie, insert a fortune, and fold in half to form a half-circle. Slowly fold over to form a fortune cookie.
