Meaty Chop Suey
|Flour||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Cubed veal||1⁄2 Pound|
|Cubed pork||1⁄2 Pound|
|Shortening||1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs) (Crisco)|
|Chopped onion||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Celery||1 Cup (16 tbs), cut into 1 inch pieces|
|Beef broth/Beef broth||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Soy sauce||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Canned bean sprouts||16 Ounce, drained (1 Can)|
|Hot cooked rice||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
Combine flour and salt in large plastic food storage bag; add meat cubes and toss lightly to coat.
Brown in hot Crisco in Dutch oven; add onion and continue browning.
Stir in celery, beef stock, soy sauce and molasses.
Cover and cook over low heat for 25 minutes.
Add bean sprouts; cook 15 minutes more.
Thicken with additional flour, if necessary.
Serve over hot cooked rice
