American Chow Mein
|Butter/Shortening||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Cooked pork/Beef / veal / chicken||2 Cup (32 tbs), cut into thin strips|
|Onions||1 Cup (16 tbs), thinly sliced|
|Bean sprouts/Mixed sprouts||1 Can (10 oz)|
|Chinese vegetables||1 Cup (16 tbs), well drained|
|Celery||2 Cup (32 tbs), sliced|
|Hot water||1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)|
Melt butter or shortening in hot skillet.
Add onions, fry 3 minutes.
Add celery, salt, pepper, and hot water.
Cover and cook for 5 minutes.
Add drained bean sprouts or Chinese vegetables and meat.
Mix thoroughly and cook 5 minutes covered.
