  Canned awabi 3 Ounce
  Chinese mushrooms 3 Ounce
  Peanut oil 1 Tablespoon
  Onion 1 Medium, roughly cut up
  Ginger sherry 1 Teaspoon
  Sesame oil 1 Teaspoon
  Chicken stock 1⁄4 Pint (U.S. 5/8 Cup)
  Sugar 1 Pinch
  Monosodium glutamate 1 Pinch (Ve-Tsin)
  Salt 1 Pinch (Small Pinch)
  Soy sauce 1 Teaspoon
  Cornflour 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Water 2 1⁄2 Teaspoon (1 Dessertspoon)

Cut the awabi into thin slices.
Drain and dry the mushrooms (stems removed), leaving them whole.
Heat the oil and fry the onion in it for 1-1 1/2 minutes.
Add the awabi and mushrooms and then the next 7 ingredients.
Cook for 2 minutes.
Stir the cornflour, blended with the water, into the mixture and boil fo 1 1/2-2 minutes.
