Chinese Pork Appetizers

Ingredients
  Soy sauce 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Salad oil 2 Tablespoon
  Garlic 2 Clove (10 gm), minced or pressed
  Dried hot red chile 1 Small, crushed
  Sugar 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Anise seeds 1⁄4 Teaspoon
  Ground cinnamon 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Ground cloves 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Lean boneless pork 2 Pound
Directions

In a bowl, combine soy, oil, garlic, chile, sugar, anise seeds, cinnamon, and cloves.
Cut pork into 1/4 to 1/2inch-thick strips about 1 inch wide.
Stir into soy mixture; cover and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours, stirring several times.
Thread meat onto small metal skewers, using 1 or 2 strips per skewer.
Place on a lightly greased grill 4 to 6 inches above a solid bed of medium coals.
Cook, turning occasionally, until browned on outside but no longer pink in center; cut to test (7 to 10 minutes).
