Beef Chow Mein

Beef Chowmein is a delicious side dish. This easily digetsible and tasty Beef Chowmein goes well on any party or get together. Try this recipe and squander its taste.
  Butter/Margarine 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Beef tenderloin/Sirloin steak 1 Pound, cut into 3 x 0.5 x 1/8 inch strips
  Butter/Margarine 3 Tablespoon
  Fresh mushrooms 1⁄2 Pound, sliced lengthwise
  Sliced celery 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Green onions 2 , sliced 0.5 inch thick
  Green pepper 1⁄2 , cut into narrow strips
  Boiling water 1 1⁄2 Cup (24 tbs)
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Mono sodium glutamate 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Pepper 1⁄8 Teaspoon
  Cold water 2 Tablespoon
  Cornstarch 2 Tablespoon
  Soy sauce 2 Teaspoon
  Sugar 1 Teaspoon
  Canned mixed vegetables 16 Ounce, drained (1 Can, Chinese)
  Coarsely chopped pimiento 2 Tablespoon

Heat 1/4 cup butter in a large skillet.
Add beef and brown evenly.
Remove meat; set aside.
Heat 3 tablespoons butter in skillet.
Stir in mushrooms, celery, green onions, and green pepper; cook and stir 1 minute.
Reduce heat and blend in boiling water, salt, monosodium glutamate, and pepper.
Bring to boiling; cover and simmer 2 minutes.
Remove vegetables; keep warm.
Bring liquid in skillet to boiling and stir in a blend of cold water, cornstarch, soy sauce, and sugar.
Cook and stir 2 to 3 minutes.
Reduce heat; mix in meat and Chinese vegetables and pimiento.
Heat thoroughly.
