Chili franks can be served as a fun appetizer or a snack. Cooked in a saucepan with chopped veggies and butter, the chili franks are flavored with cheese and chili powder. Chili franks are quite spicy and can be served over corn chips.
|Green pepper strips||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs) (narrow 1 inch long)|
|Chopped onion||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Canned kidney beans||8 Ounce (1 can)|
|Tomato sauce||1⁄2 Cup (8 tbs)|
|Chili powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Frankfurters||3 , sliced|
|Sharp process american cheese||2 Ounce, shredded to make 1/2 cup|
In a saucepan, cook green pepper and onion in butter or margarine till tender but not brown.
Add beans (with liquid), tomato sauce, chili powder, and franks.
Cook, stirring occasionally, till hot.
Add cheese; stir till melted.
Serve over corn chips.
