Chili Supper In A Hurry

  Ground beef 1 Pound
  Onion 1 Large
  Salt 1⁄2 Teaspoon
  Chili powder 1 Tablespoon
  Canned tomatoes 16 Ounce
  Canned pinto beans/Red kidney beans 15 Ounce
  Head of lettuce 1⁄2 Small
  Tomatoes 2
  Corn chips 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Grated sharp cheddar cheese 1 Cup (16 tbs)

Brown ground beef. Add onion and cook until soft. Add salt, chili powder, tomatoes, and beans. Bring to a boil and reduce heat. Simmer for 15 minutes. While chili is cooking, shred or break lettuce and chop tomatoes. To serve, place 1/2 cup corn chips in bottom of soup bowl; pour chili mixture over corn chips, and top with lettuce and tomatoes. Sprinkle with grated cheese. To make a party dish of this or any chili, omit tomatoes and lettuce. Serve with a dollop of sour cream and a wedge of fresh lime to squeeze over it.
