Chili For The Crowd

Chili is an all time favorite classic recipe. Whether you are making it for the first time or are an expert a great recipe like this is chili for the crowd going to ensure that you enjoy every bit of it
Ingredients
  Dried pinto beans 1⁄2 Pound
  Canned tomato puree 14 1⁄2 Ounce
  Tomatoes 3 1⁄2 Cup (56 tbs)
  Chopped onion 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Chopped green pepper 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Oil 2 Tablespoon
  Minced parsley 1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)
  Ground beef chuck 3 Pound
  Chili powder 1⁄3 Cup (5.33 tbs)
  Salt 1 Tablespoon
  Pepper 1 Teaspoon
  Cumin 1 Teaspoon
  Monosodium glutamate 1 Teaspoon
Directions

Place beans and 4 cups water in 4-quart saucepan.
Cover; bring to a boil.
Cook for 5 minutes; remove from heat.
Cover; let stand for 1 hour.
Bring beans to a boil; cook, covered, for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
Add puree and tomatoes.
Simmer for 5 minutes.
Saute onion and green pepper in oil; drain excess fat.
Combine onion mixture, parsley, beef, chili powder, salt, pepper, cumin and monosodium glutamate.
Simmer for 10 minutes.
Combine beef mixture with beans.
Cover; simmer for 45 minutes.
Uncover; sim- mer for 30 minutes longer.
Remove excess fat.
Serve hot with corn chips.
Yield: 4 quarts.
