Chile Con Game
|Lean ground beef||1 Pound|
|Onion||1 Medium, chopped|
|Canned pear shaped tomatoes||14 Ounce (1 Can)|
|Canned red kidney beans||27 Ounce (One Large Can Of 1 Pound 11 Ounces)|
|Chili powder||1 1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Oregano leaves||1 Teaspoon, crumbled|
|Ground cumin seed||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Coarsely chopped fresh coriander||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs) (Cilantro)|
Heat salt in a wide frying pan over medium-high heat; crumble in ground beef and cook, stirring, until browned (about 5 minutes).
Add onion and cook until limp.
Discard any fat.
Stir in tomatoes and their liquid, kidney beans and their liquid, chili powder, oregano, and cumin.
Simmer, uncovered, stirring occasionally to break up tomatoes, for about 15 minutes.
