|Cold water||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Vegetable broth cubes/Vegetable broth powder||4 Ounce|
|Cider vinegar||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Vegetable oil||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Garlic||2 Clove (10 gm), very finely minced|
|Freshly ground black pepper||To Taste|
1. Pick over and wash the chickpeas and put in a bowl. Pour in enough water to cover the peas. Let stand overnight.
2. Next day, drain the peas and put them in a kettle with 5 cups of water. Bring to a boil, cover, and simmer for 2 hours, or until tender.
3. Add remaining ingredients and simmer until tender, about 30 minutes. Sprinkle over and serve.
