Country Chicken Fricassee
|Fryer chicken||3 Pound, cut up (1 Whole)|
|Monosodium glutamate||1 Teaspoon|
|Sliced carrots||2 Cup (32 tbs)|
|Onions||2 , quartered|
|Crookneck squash||2 , cut in halves lengthwise|
|Pattypan squash||2 , cut in half|
|Green beans||6 Ounce, tips trimmed|
|Pitted ripe olives||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
enough water to just cover chicken.
Bring to boiling, cover; simmer 25 minutes until chicken is almost tender.
Add carrots and onions to cooking liquid; cover and cook 10 minutes.
Add squash and beans; cover and cook 10 minutes, or until chicken and vegetables are tender.
Remove chicken and vegetables to a warm serving dish; add olives; keep hot.
Bring cooking liquid to boiling and stir in a blend of cornstarch and about 2 tablespoons water.
Boil and stir 2 to 3 minutes.
Pour gravy over chicken.
