Country Chicken Fricassee

Ingredients
  Fryer chicken 3 Pound, cut up (1 Whole)
  Salt 1 Teaspoon
  Monosodium glutamate 1 Teaspoon
  Bay leaf 1
  Sliced carrots 2 Cup (32 tbs)
  Onions 2 , quartered
  Crookneck squash 2 , cut in halves lengthwise
  Pattypan squash 2 , cut in half
  Green beans 6 Ounce, tips trimmed
  Pitted ripe olives 1 Cup (16 tbs)
  Cornstarch 1 Tablespoon
Directions

enough water to just cover chicken.
Bring to boiling, cover; simmer 25 minutes until chicken is almost tender.
Add carrots and onions to cooking liquid; cover and cook 10 minutes.
Add squash and beans; cover and cook 10 minutes, or until chicken and vegetables are tender.
Remove chicken and vegetables to a warm serving dish; add olives; keep hot.
Bring cooking liquid to boiling and stir in a blend of cornstarch and about 2 tablespoons water.
Boil and stir 2 to 3 minutes.
Pour gravy over chicken.
