Chicken Lau La Us
|Sliced salt pork||4 Ounce|
|Stewed chicken meat||3 1⁄2 Cup (56 tbs) (In Large Pieces)|
|Taro leaves||2 Pound|
|Green onions||2 Bunch (200 gm), chopped|
|Monosodium glutamate||2 Tablespoon|
|Lemon juice||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Cold water||1 Tablespoon|
Saute salt pork slightly; add chicken, and saute a few minutes.
Add greens, and cook together for 5 minutes; add onions and seasonings, and cook for another minute.
Combine cornstarch and cold water; push chicken to one side and add cornstarch mixture; cook, stirring constantly, till sauce thickens.
Add salt to taste.
Put one kitchen spoonful of the lau lau mixture in 2 pieces of ti leaves or chard and wrap in a bundle or fold like an envelope.
Put in steamer for half an hour, then serve.
Makes 5 or 6 servings.
