Golden Oven Fried Chicken
|Chicken||1 , cut into pieces|
|Oil||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Butter||1⁄4 Cup (4 tbs)|
|Flour||1 Cup (16 tbs)|
|Seasoning salt||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Black pepper||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
|Garlic powder||1⁄2 Teaspoon|
1)In a large bowl wash the chicken and soak in salt water with 1 tsp of salt for about 20 minutes.
2)Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
3)In a shallow baking pan place oil and butter and set in the oven to heat and melt.
4)In another bowl combine the flour and seasonings and dredge the chicken in the flour mixture.
5)Remove hot pan from the oven and arrange the chicken in the pan skin side down,but do not crowd.
6)Place in the oven and bake for 30 minutes, turn chicken so that the skin side is up and continue baking for 20 to 30 minutes more, until nicely browned and juices run clear.
7)Remove onto a platter and let cool at least 10 minutes.
8)Serve hot with your choice of sides and enjoy!
